addremove
This fantastic cottage lies in the idyllic coastal village of Worth Matravers, nestling in the rolling Purbeck Hills. This is a fantastic area for walking, and a pleasant stroll will take you to the sea where you can enjoy the spectacular Jurassic coastline. The coastal path leads westwards to the charming bays of Chapmans Pool, Kimmeridge and Lulworth or eastwards to the seaside resort of Swanage. Swanage is famous for its glorious sandy beach which is ideal for swimming, paddling, boating, fishing and diving. There are plenty of traditional entertainments including pedaloes and Punch and Judy. The town has a steam railway which links with the village of Corfe Castle, famous for its mediaeval castle and thatched cottages. On entering this lovely cottage, which dates back over 200 years and was skilfully extended and refurbished in 2009/10, you will find yourself in the welcoming and spacious lounge which has plenty of comfy seating and a TV/DVD. This room has a light and airy feel with large windows, and French doors opening onto a splendid terrace. The fireplace is built of Purbeck stone and has a traditional wood burner so that, in colder weather, you can relax in front of a real fire. A door opens into a separate smaller lounge, with seating, a choice of children's games, and an additional TV/DVD. You will also find a charming, light and spacious dining room with a lovely Purbeck stone floor. Heading into the galley style kitchen, you will find it equipped with an electric oven and hob with extractor. An adjoining utility area houses the microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. Exploring the ground floor further you will find a pretty double bedroom with a French door opening onto another patio in the garden. Adjacent to this room is a shower room complete with a built in shower and WC. A fairly narrow and steep staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find three further cosy bedrooms. There s a spacious master bedroom with a king size bed and spectacular views to the sea and downs. It also has an en suite bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. There is also a charming smaller room with a 4 ft 6ins bed with views across the garden. This room has been designated as a single room as it is only easy to access the bed from one side. There is also a lovely children s room with a bunk bed and a single bed. This room has a variety of toys and books children may enjoy. There is also a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. Stepping outside you will find a wonderful large secluded garden which surrounds the cottage which is walled, gated and fenced, making it a splendid place for you to relax and for children to play games. The garden has large areas of lawn with attractive shrubberies and a raised patio so you can enjoy meals whilst taking full advantage of the panoramic views. There is a second patio area to the side of the cottage with additional garden furniture. There s also a full size trampoline, sandpit and a great choice of garden toys for children. Three cars may be parked in the drive.
