Tucked away in the Shropshire countryside and resting on the south of Ludlow is the quiet village of Woofferton. The friendly village is home to numerous amenities, including: a hotel, coffee shop, a butchers, pub and a service station. Woofferton is best known for being home to the Woofferton Transmitting Station, a historic station that dates back to the Second World War. The quaint village provides visitors with a tranquil base where they can explore the nearby towns of Ludlow and Tenbury Wells; Ludlow is home to several historic landmarks, including a glorious castle and museum, to appease those eager history fans, while Tenbury wells is home to a fabulous swimming pool where visitors can spend the day splashing in its waters. Woofferton has additional easy access to the centre of the Shropshire Hills AONB, where visitors can embark on various biking routes, ride through bridleways and walk the trails through the dramatic landscapes of the hills. A little further south from the village is the National Trust's breathtaking Berrington Hall, where visitors can tour through its colourful interior, before picnicking on its ample lush grounds. Nature lovers will also appreciate Woofferton's links to several nature reserves, from High Vinnalls, a place offering sweeping views, to the enchanting Mortimer Forest.
