Located in the heart of the Lake District, the twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled destinations. There are a wide variety of shops and restaurants in both towns, as well as a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium, and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' in Sawrey, which are all additional attractions in Ambleside, which is the closest town to the Lake District national park. All kinds of activities are available at Grizedale Forest Park's many trails, including mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. For those seeking a more exhilarating experience, there are other National Trust estates in the area, as well as opportunities for a variety of water sports.
