Area
Williamstown is a small community in County Galway, situated between Castlerea and Glenmaddy. Despite its small stature, this charming village is home to a service station stocked with daily necessities, a tavern serving a wide selection of beverages, and a fast food restaurant (The Hatch). It's in a beautiful part of the green, rolling Irish countryside, close to places like the Lough Namucka Bog Nature Reserve and the Cloonfad Scenic Walks, all begging to be explored. You can feel like you've stepped back in time when you visit the neighbouring Templetogher Heritage Area, where the sound of water trickling through the water mill adds to the peaceful atmosphere. If you're willing to travel a bit further, you'll find that Castlerea is home to a golf club where you can try out your swing, a wide range of stores and supermarkets, and the Castlerea Railway Museum, which features an extensive collection of rail memorabilia. Travel westward and you'll find Lough Mask, where a banshee is said to live and where activities like kayaking, canoeing, and sailing are highly popular. From Williamstown, you may set off to explore all of Ireland.
