addremove
This cottage is located 2 miles south of the village of Wedmore, between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills. Wedmore is a vibrant village with varied restaurants, a diverse range of quality food and other independent shops. Within driving distance is Wells with its famous cathedral, historic lanes, supermarkets, and thriving market. The Mendips offer Cheddar Gorge, challenging cycling and great walking. Weston Super Mare and Burnham on Sea have vast sandy beaches, seaside shops, family entertainments and restaurants. Under 0.25 miles of the property, take in Westhay Nature Reserve, a paradise for bird lovers, or legendary cider maker, Roger Wilkins. Mystical Glastonbury and Street, with Clarks Shopping Village are also close by. Finally, the cities of Bristol and Bath offer cosmopolitan culture, museums, bars and restaurants. Entering the beautiful accommodation, part of a traditional 1820s farmhouse, you are greeted by a modern kitchen. With original flagstone floors, a pine table and well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher, the kitchen is perfect for preparing old favourites and enjoying Somerset s great food. Beyond, there is also a larder with a microwave and masses of additional storage, plus roomy cupboard for boots and coats. The kitchen leads to the lounge, which boasts a wood burner for really cosy evenings. Here you can snuggle up on the comfy sofa and watch your favourite programmes on the Smart TV, read a good book, or use the card table for family games or jigsaws. Upstairs, you will find two well appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin room with desk and working space. There is a contemporary shower room with a shower and WC. Venturing outside from the front door and up several stone steps is the parking area adjacent to the lane. There is a private garden which boasts far reaching views over the Somerset Levels and to Glastonbury Tor. Sit at the garden table, which is a perfect spot to enjoy a BBQ, or just relax and enjoy a glass of wine or cider. Adjoining the cottage is a storage room where you are welcome to keep your bikes. There is a wash down area for bikes, and a washing machine available in the laundry room.
