A tranquil haven in the heart of the Lake District, this 800 acre ancient woodland boasts fantastic footpaths, cycle paths, interesting sculptures and a Go Ape centre. Just 6 miles away, the pretty, traffic free village of Hawkshead is home to a charming selection of independent cafes and shops. No trip to this area is complete without a visit to Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter, 5 miles away, or of course Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, 6 miles away.
