Torquay is a famous seaside resort in South Devon, known for its sandy beaches, piers, palm trees and plentiful attractions, and has been attracting visitors for nearly 200 years. Torquay has an abundance of children’s activities, suitable whatever the weather, along with coastal walks and a selection of restaurants and nightlife for adults. There are a number of tourist attractions to visit, inclduing the Torquay Museum, Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves and the Torquay Golf Course for day trips, as well as a large harbour and lovely sandy beaches, all within easy reach. Take a wonderful walk along the clifftops to blow away any cobwebs and enjoy the far-reaching seascapes, or stroll beside the harbour and watch the boats drift in and out of the bay. Visitors can catch a boat to Brixham or Paignton, try sea angling or a range of water-based activities, discover the history of the area at medieval Torre Abbey or head to the world-famous Paignton Zoo to come face-to-face with elephants and meerkats.
