The house was very maintained and was in a quiet location .

"We found this property to be exactly as advertised, it had everything we needed and was in a quiet area."
We did manage to spend some time in the garden on our first day and enjoyed the sun in the swing seat for a brief period, the weather didn't really permit this later in our stay.
David our host, was always contactable and provided an introduction email prior to our arrival which we found useful. He also provided some suggestions on places to visit and other helpful information about the town.
Although not our first visit to the area, it was our first time at Home Straight but we would 100% stay there again.

"Good as ever, loved the range of herbs and spices in the kitchen and garden."
We found no problem in parking our large people carrier provided the passenger alights first and you park the pavement end. Our third visit and won't be the last.

"A lovely stay."
The property is very well equipped in all areas and beautifully clean.The small freezer was a bonus. The host contacted us to make sure all was well which was appreciated. Nice to have a parking space and a 20 min walk along the road or river into Stratford so very convenient and Stratford is a beautiful town as well as being a good base to explore the surrounding countryside.

"A lovely comfortable property."
Very convenient for town and local walks for which a super book was provided - we did more than half the walks described. The garden was also lovely to sit and eat in. Thank you. Only drawback was the parking which was shared and rather too narrow for our car. We did park on the road however.

"A lovely property, fully equipped with everything you could need."
The host, David, sent us short videos just before arrival on how to use the heating etc. and guided tours of each room of the house. He also left us fantastic welcome gifts, so thoughtful. The garden is beautifully designed, and a great place to sit for breakfast or a cup of tea. Plenty of space for parking on the road outside (small cars can fit in the designated space next to the property). Such a clean and homely property. Would definitely book again. Thanks David!

"We enjoyed a super holiday at Home Straight."
The house was extremely comfortable and the rear garden was delightful to relax in after a full day out visiting gardens and places of interest. The house is in a lovely quiet area with plenty of on street parking. David, the owner was most courteous and attentive, over and above what I would have expected. I would thoroughly recommend a holiday at this property .

"The property is in an excellent location, close enough to walk into the Town Centre (there is a pleasant countryside/riverside walk into the town), but still in a quite location with easy roadside parking."
The house is clean and well maintained and the owner is very friendly and helpful, introducing himself shortly after we arrived to see if there was any help we needed. He also provided milk, and chocolates and prosecco as a welcome gift, and gave information about local attractions.

"Had a great stay."

"The parking is shared with the neighbours, and only suitable for small cars."
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I’m sorry that you had some issues with parking. There is plenty of unrestricted parking on-street and two dedicated spaces adjacent to the house. These are not shared with the neighbours but are small and not really suitable for large vehicles. You are the first guest to point this out and it’s helpful feedback. I will make some alteration to the property description.

"Our second visit and it won't be the last."
One of the delights of this property is the garden. Both Stratford and Shottery are easy to walk to. Lots to do in Stratford and the surrounding area, especially if you are members of the National Trust.

"Cosy, extremely clean property."

"Fabulous, cosy and well equipped cottage."
David the owner gave us lots of useful suggestions for things to do in the area. We walked along the river into town, visited the RSC theatre, went to several nearby NT properties and did a lovely drive into the Cotswolds. Would thoroughly recommend.

A very clean and cosy house with a well equipped kitchen. Our toddler loved playing in the beautiful garden. Our host was very helpful, the welcome videos about the property were really useful and the welcome biscuits and fizz were very well received. A great location for exploring Stratford upon Avon, was a short walk into the town and the books, guides and leaflets left in the house were really helpful for us to plan our week. We would definitely recommend this property and very likely to return too!

"Would recommend this property, very clean and cosy."
It was just the two of us staying. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was functional, large smart tv worked well, the back garden area is lovely. We liked the attention to detail including welcome biscuits and wine, which was appreciated! The house was in a very quiet area.Its 20 mins walk to the decent pubs and most local attractions. Good communication with the owner from the beginning to end of the booking process.

Beautiful garden with swing seat.

I had a most enjoyable week at Home Straight. The house was immaculate and very well equipped. It is well situated, in a quiet part, but was an easy walk into Stratford, which I did a number of times. Very handy to not to have to take the car. Obviously there is much to be seen in Stratford.

"Booked a weeks stay at Home Straight from the 2nd of June 2023 to the 9th, we had some business to see to in Lapworth and this was just a 30 minute drive away, so it was very convenient for us."
The house was absolutely lovely, a very quiet location, but a few minutes drive into the centre of Stratford, to walk maybe 10 to 15 minutes, the decor was light and airy, with a nice modern kitchen, which is well equipped, the garden is very pretty and landscaped beautifully, with garden furniture, to sit out in and enjoy the birds tweeting around you, upstairs there is a nice bathroom with fabulous towels provided, a good sized single bedroom, and a beautiful master bedroom which is a great size, lovely and bright, and a most comfortable King size bed, the bed linen, and pillows are very luxurious, it was very hard to get out of it of a morning as you would feel so comfortable.
The property owner was most helpful, and was happy to provide recommendations on various places if required, you only had to text him or give a call, as it happened we only got to meet him on the morning of our departure, and what a lovely guy he is, hopefully we will be returning in the future as it is a beautiful part of the country and we really did enjoy our stay there, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. "Who hasn’t booked a weekend stay in a cutesy looking, olde worlde, cottage only to find it drafty, cold and with tired decor and linen?"
No such issues at Home Straight! A modern, bright and super clean base for exploring Stratford and the surrounding countryside. The bed was the comfiest we’ve ever experienced. Exquisite bed linen and fluffy, generous sized, towels included. A lovely secluded garden space with table and chairs, a perfect spot for morning coffee. Stratford is a delightful town with plenty of independent shops and eateries and a real sense of history. Plus, of course, the theatres and birthplace associated with Shakespeare. We throughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet area of Stratford.

"We enjoyed our stay at Home Straight."
The house is welcoming, clean
and comfortable, with everything we needed. The small and pretty back
garden is well laid out and was like having another room. We enjoyed
eating alfresco with a glass or three of wine on one our evenings.
The only tiny criticism is that the carpets are a little tired in
places (mostly on the stairs), but apart from that the house was near
perfect for the two of us and this wouldn’t put us off coming back.
We enjoyed walking by the river and mooching around the shops in
Stratford, which we really enjoyed and on one of the days we drove up
to the stunningly beautiful Kiftsgate and Hidcote Manor Gardens
(National Trust) (about 20 - 25 minutes away). We also had a quick
look at Chipping Campden (really lovely!), which is very close to the
gardens.
There’s a lot to explore in this area and we’ll certainly be coming
back later in the year to do more and we’ll definitely be returning to
Home Straight. Thank you all!

"We loved this place."
The property (Home-Straight) and the location. We don’t normally book modern properties, but we will certainly do it again because this house worked really well for us. It’s well equipped, very clean, cosy, comfortable and quiet. The small garden is lovely and private, although we didn’t have much time to enjoy it because we were busy (so lounging on the garden swing-seat with a good book and a good glass will have to wait until our next visit I guess!).
We’d booked Home-Straight because we wanted to see Stratford AND we wanted to spend a little time in the Cotswolds (lovely Mickleton is an easy 15-minute drive, Hidcote garden 20 mins). It was a good decision. This house is perfectly situated for both. We packed a lot in, we did one of the theatres (yes, there is more than one!), Shakespeare houses, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Holy Trinity Church and a couple of (really good!) eateries (we LOVED Lambs in the town centre).
We like walking and the house is only 5 mins. from the Greenway, which is right by the river (we really enjoyed Bobby’s café and the amazing cakes). We wished we’d brought our bikes (next time perhaps!).
When we return (and we will return!) we’ll spend more time, because there’s a lot more here than we’d realised. Next time we’ll spend longer and go in the other direction and maybe even a day at Stratford races (Home-Straight is very close to the racecourse).
Perfect weekend in a perfect location in a perfect little house. Thank you and see you again later in the summer.
