Gorran Haven is a family friendly golden sandy beach protected by the old harbour wall. Offering some of the most stunning views along the South West Coast Path. A short drive from the now world famous Eden Project and 2 miles from the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Caerhays Castle, gardens and beach are 3.5 miles away. In the 18th century, it was the village pub, The Ship and from its windows Dickie Kingcup, the famous local smuggler looked out across the bay and organized drops of brandy casks off Dodman point, while the coastguard men sat in the Watchhouse further along the beach and wondered what the fishermen were doing. The cottage has a really magical atmosphere, especially in the quieter autumn and winter seasons when the winter storms can come to lash against the windows. In all seasons you can hear the sound of the waves as you lie in bed. Enter into the three storey cottage via some steps into the ground floor where you will find two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom is a double with plenty of natural light and stunning views of the sea, you will also find a shower room with a shower and WC on this floor. The second bedroom is a twin room again with breathtaking sea views and a light bright feel. There is a wonderful quirky metal spiral staircase that runs throughout the entire property joining the three floors together. Up the stairs and onto the first floor is the third bedroom serving a king size with TV and fantastic far reaching views of the beach, the perfect place to wake up listening to the sound of the sea whilst watching the sun rising. There is an en suite bathroom with a free standing bath and WC full of character. Moving down the stairs to the lower ground floor is the lounge/dining/kitchen with the lounge window overlooking the beach, comfy seating, TV and a fantastic wood burner. This really is the perfect place to rest up after a day on the beach. The dining area has plenty of seating and is in the centre of the room next to the well equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, and microwave. Moving through the kitchen area is the utility room which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The games room follows on from here and is a great space to occupy the children, with table tennis table there is endless fun to be had. The area immediately outside the window of the cottage belongs to the cottage and the window sill is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the world passing by. The Mermaid Beach Cafe conveniently next door, serves a variety of refreshments until early evening. There is no parking. However, bags can be unloaded by stopping outside the front door on arrival. The village car park about 200ms away and is payable separately (approx 25 per week)
