And when the sun shines, pack up your bucket and spades for a morning at the UK's largest inland beach with a purpose-built toddler paddling and playground area – it's just a five-minute drive away.

When tummies start to rumble, it's back to the lodge to rustle up dinner in the sleek, modern kitchen. Flooded with natural daylight thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, cooking is a joy in the free-flowing, open-plan living and dining space.
