Skellingthorpe is a village and civil parish approximately four miles west of the city of Lincoln, with two pubs, a shop and a Post Office. The village was formerly home to RAF Skellingthorpe and was the host to one of many bomber airfields around the city of Lincoln. The village has ancient woodland to explore on foot, bicycle or horseback, with a variety of ancient oak, lime and conifers. The local nature reserve, Whisby Nature Park, is famous for its lakes and ponds and over six miles of footpaths.
