The grounds are the real highlight and have been designed to make the most of the enviable Mediterranean climate and breathtaking views. A spacious terrace comes equipped with a private pool surrounded by sun loungers and there are a couple of shaded seating areas on hand to shelter you from the glare of the midday sun. Finally, there's a built-in brick oven for cooking your food over fire.

Given the location, you're looking at a minimum of a forty-minute drive to reach the authentic Andalusian town of Vélez-Málaga, or the charming former fishing village of Nerja. So we say stock up on essentials, embrace the solitude and enjoy a week or two to completely disconnect – you'd be surprised how exhausting doing nothing can be.
