Mediterranean Modernista

Sitting on a quiet street in the middle of Sant Pol de Mar, this home might bear the traditional bearings of Mediterranean architecture on the exterior, but the interior is a real modern delight.

As you wander about, you can't fail to notice just how bright and welcoming the design is, something aided by the large windows and stark white walls that accentuate the bountiful amounts of natural light that stream inside. Cleansing colours seem to be a recurring theme here, whether in the sleek surfaces of the minimalist kitchen or the equally contemporary bathrooms, one with a hydromassage bathtub for good measure.

This being Spain, it wouldn't be asking for too much to expect some outdoor spaces in which to enjoy the glorious climate and thankfully, there are two terraces – one down at ground level, another on the upper floor that looks out to views of the surrounding town and a pair of balconies from which it's possible to spot the sea.

When that coastal panorama proves too much to resist, you'll be happy to learn that the sandy Platja de les Barques is only three minutes' walk away. You'll find a handful of bars and restaurants in the locale too, but for a much vaster choice, Barcelona is only a forty-five-minute drive away.
