Any discussion of Savannah has to start with the roof terrace, a little rectangle of serenity nestled in the rooftops of Trastevere. There is furniture up there and even a canopy, so you can relax while hiding from the midday sun. The interior is simple but charming, with a working fireplace in the living room - perfect for those cosy winter nights. The bathroom is a little basic - especially if it’s being shared by four - and it’s worth noting that there is no lift in the building, but otherwise Savannah is a lovely base in Rome's most bohemian neighbourhood.

*Get ready for some climbing - there's no lift and the apartment's on the second floor
*The stairs to the terrace is quite narrow with a low ceiling
*If the apartment receives all four guests, they'll have to share one bathroom
