Back at home, this modern apartment housed in an ancient Roman villa of mighty proportions makes quite the first impression with its floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural daylight and revealing charming scenes of the pretty piazza below.

The designers have cleverly used the height of those lofty, exposed beam ceilings to create a nifty mezzanine level that houses the second bedroom.
