Area
Between Helston and Marazion, on Cornwall's south coast, is the little village of Praa Sands. In addition to its mile-long sands, Praa Sands is well-known for its superb surf breaks. There is a beachside bar and restaurant where you may have lunch or sunset cocktails. The Golf & Country Club at Praa Sands offers stunning views of the sea while you play. Pengersick Castle, a 16th-century fortress located just inland from the beach, may be found. In Pengersick, a monk's ghost has been spotted wandering the grounds, according to legend. An underground passage leading from Pengersick's mansion to the seashore is said to have been utilised by smugglers in the past. John Carter, self-styled King of Prussia, is said to have been born there. Penzance (eight miles) and Helston (seven miles) both have supermarkets and other retail establishments (6 miles).
Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
