This cottage is located in the tranquil village of Gamblesby, which has a large central village green surrounded by 18th and 19th century red sandstone buildings, and it is just 15 miles from Ullswater. This is a great base to enjoy a boat trip or visit the waterfalls at Aira Force. The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the heritage site of Hadrian s Wall are both less than 30 miles away. The local area has some excellent walks plus numerous cycle routes. The Coast to Coast route runs within a few miles of the village. Penrith (10 miles) has lots of interesting local shops, independent restaurants and pubs. Long Meg and her Daughters (a Neolithic stone circle) is 4 miles away, as well as numerous historic sites and castles. Train enthusiasts must visit the narrow gauge South Tynedale Railway and the Settle to Carlisle railway line, less than 6 miles away. With its peaceful atmosphere, this property offers a romantic retreat. It s an immaculate and stylishly presented barn conversion, adjoining the owner s art studio.
