Inside, the sleek and contemporary touches really caught our eye, as well as the sociable chef's kitchen ideal for preparing lunches to be enjoyed out on the private terrace – equipped with comfy chairs and an outdoor dining area, it's a lovely spot for enjoying the warm Sicilian sunshine. You will have to climb about 76 steps to reach this apartment and there's a floating staircase without a railing, which won't suit everyone. When you're ready to explore, historical landmarks such as the Cathedral of Palermo are a short walk away, as well as plenty of traditional restaurants and wine bars.
