In the middle of June, the village hosts a massive and spectacular gala, making it an ideal time to visit for anyone interested in experiencing the Carnival. The gorgeous Peak District National Park is a haven for outdoor lovers, and the surrounding region is full of scenic walks, particularly up Jawbone Hill, which affords amazing views over Sheffield and the surrounding countryside.
