The town of Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire coast on the River Nevern. It offers a lovely sheltered harbour, a golf course with sea views and a good selection of shops, pubs and tea rooms. Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is renowned for scenic walks along the magnificent coastline and opportunities to see dolphins and seals, while hikes through the Preseli Hills, where the Stonehenge Blue Stones originated, offers a varied landscape. Fishguard and Cardigan are within 10 miles, while Wales' smallest city, St Davids is slightly further afield.
