If you like walking, there are plenty of both long and shorter walks close by and some great cycle ways. The village itself boasts a range of activities and amenities, including a scenic golf course, river fishing and of course, the must visit National Trust owned, historic Cragside House and beautiful Gardens. You will also find a fantastic range of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, art galleries and gift shops, not to mention the ice cream parlour for a tasty holiday treat! This welcoming property in Rothbury offers one of the most breath taking views in the area across the Coquetdale Valley towards the Simonside Hills, within the Northumberland National Park. Further afield you can explore Alnwick Castle, enjoy a walk on the stunning beach at Bamburgh and visit the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, or why not head over to Holy Island which is of significant historical interest. Discover the perfect dark skies as part of the International Dark Sky Park, Europe s largest area of protected night sky and officially the best place in England to view the stars. The reverse level property is located in an elevated position in the village and is set over three floors with access to the front door from the driveway down a set of stone steps (care must be taken). You enter the property on the ground floor and into a porch where you can hang coats and leave your walking boots. Off the hallway there is a utility room with a washing machine and drying area and on the other side of the hallway there is a separate WC. Three steps lead you up to the first floor and into the lounge/diner with panoramic views where you can relax on the two comfortable sofas in front of the wood burner, and for your entertainment, there is a Smart TV. In the dining area you can dine in together gazing out at the views from the dining table in front of sliding doors with access to the balcony. Also, on this floor is the well equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Heading downstairs, to the lower ground floor you will find the three bedrooms, a sauna and the bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. There are two spacious double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom with a door which leads out into the patio and garden areas. For a truly relaxing end to your day, why not treat yourself to a sauna, with two tier seating everyone can enjoy! Outside, you can enjoy a drink on the balcony with its own table and chairs, or you can relax and enjoy a BBQ on the lower level patio area, also with an outdoor table and chairs. The large, natural garden is full of mature trees and shrubs and perfect for a family game of hide and seek and bird watching. For the more adventurous there is a stile at the bottom of the garden which joins a footpath leading into the village. Otherwise, you can access the same footpath by going up the steps to the road. There is parking for one car on the drive and a second car can park on the street in front of the property, subject to availability.
