Close to the national park and less than 2 miles from the popular town of Rothbury, the calm and friendly village of Thropton offers views of heather clad hills and the best of both worlds, being close to the coast too. With two pubs serving food and a well stocked village store, you have everything you need on the doorstep. Neighbouring Rothbury has a great range of walking and cycling routes, shops, pubs, a golf course and eateries, and a visit to Cragside House and its magnificent gardens is a must. Rothbury has public tennis courts for anyone interested in a game. Head into the Simonside Hills for amazing scenery and stroll along the banks of the River Coquet with a picnic. Visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens (14 miles), historic Otterburn (13 miles) set in rolling countryside or one of a number of beautiful sandy beaches on the coast. Step inside this beautifully presented, stone cottage and you ll find yourself in the light and airy lounge/diner with plenty of comfortable seating around the inglenook fireplace where you can relax and unwind with the cosy warmth of a wood burner adding to the ambience in cooler months. Choose a movie to watch on the Smart TV or sit at the dining table with a drink and plan your next day s adventures. A step down from the lounge takes you into the well equipped kitchen which provides everything you need to prepare your meals and the window offers a view of the rear garden and the hillside beyond. At bedtime, stairs in the lounge lead up to the two bedrooms; each with an en suite shower room with WC. There is a spacious and light king size bedroom with plenty of storage space and lovely views of the local hills. The sofa/day bed is a great place to sit quietly with a book or it can be used for an additional child. From the landing, two steps lead down to the delightful second bedroom with a double bed and lovely garden views. Outside, access to the enclosed rear garden is via a small, courtyard (which belongs to neighbouring property) with a private bike store for your use. The lawned garden has a patio area at the far end with a table and seating where you can relax and enjoy wonderful views of the open countryside and nearby hills. Fire up the charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining followed by an evening of stargazing in Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. To the front, there is a garden.
