This beautifully presented period cottage benefits from space, light, and thoughtful touches to encourage relaxation, happy memories, and making the most of the gorgeous location. Stable Cottage is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty on a family run farm set in the Cheviot foothills of the Northumberland National Park. This is a place where you can indulge in the delightful ruralness, peace and tranquillity of your beautiful surroundings. You will have the opportunity to get close up and personal with the animals should you so wish meet the friendly farm dogs and ferrets in the yard, Fuzzy the donkey in a nearby field who often hovers by the fence looking for attention, pick up freshly laid bantam eggs, and during spring you can see the lambs and calves nearby. As well as walking down to the nearby river for a stroll with your furry friends, you will also be able to explore walks around Mindrum Farm, a regenerative organic farm focused on soil health and maintaining a balanced agricultural ecosystem, which provides a fantastic breeding ground for a wide variety of birds, insects, flora and fauna. Watch gliders soar over the Cheviots, barn owls hunting, many types of waders and ducks gathering in the intentionally flooded areas and keep your eye out for the kingfishers and otters by the river the latter being notoriously shy and extremely difficult to spot. The market towns of Wooler and Kelso are just a short drive away, both offering a range of restaurants, pubs and shops. There are golf courses, gliding and even horse racing at Kelso, and you can enjoy the many walks and cycleways in and around the Cheviot Hills. A little further afield visit Bamburgh, home to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, Grace Darling Museum, and an abundance of restaurants. Climb aboard a boat and set sail to the Farne Islands to see a range of wildlife or visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Back on land visit the market town of Alnwick for the castle and its world famous gardens or Berwick upon Tweed for its history, culture, shopping and restaurants. Back at home , access to the property is at the main door into a spacious boot room which is a great place to leave muddy shoes and towel down soggy fur after adventures, leading into a spacious hall area. Off the hallway, there is a pretty twin bedroom, and opposite is a contemporary shower room which has a large, walk in shower and WC. From the hallway you walk into the welcoming lounge overlooking the garden where you can relax and put your feet up, for a cosy night in front of the fire watching TV, enjoy a nightcap and peruse the many books in the bookshelves. A door leads into a hallway with access to the kitchen and the back door leading into the garden. The bright and airy kitchen has been tastefully finished and similarly overlooks the stunning garden. You will have everything you need to prepare and enjoy your meals including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer. This space will become the social hub of your holiday, with two comfortable armchairs where you can sit with a drink and keep the cook company. You can also enjoy quality time together sitting at the dining table which has seating for six guests. Stairs lead off from the lounge to the first floor, here you will find two further bedrooms which are in the spacious eaves of the house and each with lovely views over the garden. The master bedroom has a super king size zip and link bed (which can be made into a twin on request) and has an ensuite shower room with shower cubicle and WC. The third bedroom has a king size bed with an en suite large bathroom with bath, shower attachment and WC. There is plenty of space in here and even a sofa to relax on and read while you run your bubble bath. Outside, the delightful, enclosed garden will be the perfect place to relax, unwind and have fun. It is set to lawn and bordered with attractive plants and trees and there is a beautiful stone patio area with garden furniture where you can dine al fresco on warm days or sit with your morning tea while planning your day. There is comfortable seating to relax on and a summer house to retreat to when it is cooler to extend your days outdoors. There is allocated off road, parking for two cars next to the property and space for a third in front of the cottage.
