Ideal for family holidays meaning you can spend time together but also have your own space. Hosts were very responsive with any questions we had, will definitely recommend to others.

The property

Located in the quaint village of Meliden in Denbighshire is Salem, a converted chapel, inviting up to twelve guests.

Oozing both character and style, Salem has been sympathetically renovated to pay homage to the chapel's origins, showcasing original arch windows throughout, whilst offering a contemporary and well-equipped base for a North Wales getaway.

Park up on the private driveway before heading indoors this charming dwelling.

Reach the chic sitting room, complete with a plush corner sofa and a wall-mounted Smart TV, offering the perfect place to unwind after a day of travelling.

The kitchen/diner is fully-equipped with sleek cabinetry, marble worktops, and state-of-the-art appliances, where you can prepare meals, ready to be enjoyed around the lofty table.

If you'd prefer an alfresco affair, be sure to set the patio table, located in the enclosed rear garden, where you can benefit from a barbecue on sunny days with a glass of wine in hand; end the evening with a soak in the indulgent hot tub, covered for privacy and convenience.

On cooler nights, make use of the first-floor games room, featuring plenty of plush seating, a Smart TV for catching up on your latest programmes, and a pool table for some friendly competition.

Slope off to sleep in one of six well-appointed bedrooms, two of which rest on the ground floor, whilst the master and three twins can be found on the first floor; two of the double bedrooms benefit from en-suite shower rooms, whilst the remaining guests can select between a handy shower room, and a luxurious ground-floor bathroom.

If you can tear yourself away from this highly-appointed home, head into the village to stock up on the essentials and dine out, before traversing the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you can hike up Graig Fawr and Gop Hi Cairn, before stopping for a round of golf at St Melyd Golf Club.

Head to the coast to stroll along either Prestatyn Beach or Ffrith Beach, before venturing further into Rhyl, a bustling seaside town.

Here you'll find a variety of amenities to ease your stay, along with Rhyl Beach, Zip World Rhyl, SeaQuarium Rhyl, SC2 Rhyl water park, Rhyl Harbour, and the Kinmel Dunes Local Nature Reserve, all worth adding to your itinerary for all types of visits.

For a touch of luxury, book Salem.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £550.

MELIDEN

Prestatyn 1 mile; Rhuddlan 2 miles.

Only one mile from the lovely North Wales coast, standing between the historic village of Rhuddlan with its majestic castle, and the famous resort of Prestatyn, the village of Meliden boasts a history of lead mining, a neolithic burial mound called Gop Hill which provides panoramic views of the area and also good pubs/restaurants and shops. Prestatyn, whose Blue Flag beach provides miles of golden sand, is ideal for bathing, water sports and fishing. The perfect base for touring the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, the Clwydian Hill Range, Victorian Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo or historic Chester with its wonderful shops and architecture.
