Location
Malmsmead is a hamlet on Exmoor which is approximately 1 mile from The Hayloft. Brendon is our local village, approximately 3 miles west along the valley. The Staghunters Inn is the local pub, offering good home cooked food and a range of local beers.
The village of Porlock is approximately 6 miles from The Hayloft. It is a lovely Exmoor village and has three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, Post Office, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Lynmouth and Lynton are approx. 6 miles in the opposite direction. They have similar amenities and a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Both are well worth a visit.
Minehead is approximately 10 miles from the property (beyond Porlock). Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco, Lidl and Morrisons are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
