  • "Great stay & apologies to the owner that we didn't comment in the visitors book - in the check out deadline confusion we all thought someone else had done it."

However. we intend to return soon & will rectify the oversight. If I could make a couple of observations & hope you don't think I'm being petty;- One of our party was a chef & still enjoys making meals. The kitchen facilities, cutlery, cooking utensils etc were superb but, being February, night arrived early & the ceiling lighting didn't prevent the preparation surfaces being very dark. Maybe next time they decorate they could consider installing some low level spot lights to brighten the areas. It could also be an enhancement feature. The outside light is very poor & could do with upgrading to improve night time lighting to the gate. Of course, both of the above are only applicable to winter/off season bookings. We had to turn a couple of the matrasses over (large downstairs & small upstairs bedrooms) because the springs were uncomfortable. Don't know if it's the quality or if they're past their best? Finally, a thank you to a friend of mine who works for you, Grahame Hindhaugh for pointing me in the right direction & helping with the booking. Regards Dave Rowell

Where you’ll be staying

MALLTRAETH

Newborough 2 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.
