Locations don't come much better than this. Tucked away on a quiet lane between Calle Larios – one of the most famous streets in the city – and The Cathedral of Málaga, this flat is in a prime position for exploring. Wake up with the sun and enjoy breakfast at a nearby panadería or pastelería before setting off for a day of sightseeing – museums, Castillo de Gibralfaro and the city's sandy beach can all be reached on foot. Later on, treat yourself to a glass of Spanish vino and some delectable tapas at one of the many eateries on your doorstep. Back at home, chill out on the yellow sofa and rest weary legs after your busy day. Sunlight spills into the apartment from the quintessentially Andalusian floor-to-ceiling doors, which lead out onto quaint Juliet balconies. Although there's nowhere to sit, the view of the Cathedral's dome and spire is worth standing for. We love all the finishing touches here, from the ceramic dinnerware and mid-century furniture to the leafy green houseplants. Remote workers can set up shop at the desk in the bedroom while keen cooks whip up an easy meal in the crisp white kitchen to share around the... dining table – we can easily envision laughter-packed conversations over bottles of wine at this very spot, the evening sun painting the entire room shades of gold.

Home truths
Two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area
This apartment is tucked away from the main street and it's relatively quiet – there are a few restaurants on the street and city noise is to be expected, so light sleepers may still want to pack earplugs
The kitchen has a microwave and a small hob, but no oven – there are many eateries in the area, so we doubt you'll do much cooking
The TV has both Spanish and English channels
The entrance to this building is shared with other residents
The balcony is Juliet-style, so it's narrow with nowhere to sit
You won’t need a car in Málaga, as many of the city’s landmarks are within walking distance – instead of driving, explore on foot or use public transportation
