Description The Sea Change: Madrid

This is a quirky apartment tucked behind Atocha station. The bold style decisions, including a coral photo print on the pillows, or a fish chandelier (you can see a theme forming), might not be to everyone's taste, but they certainly make this home unique. The Sea Change is comfortable, bright, and it has a balcony that's been converted into a study. Although slightly farther away from the museums, all the sights around Retiro are still accessible on foot and the area around Atocha hides tonnes of great restaurants and cafes.

* There are several steps leading to the elevator—those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases beware
* Although this home can accommodate seven guests, the last one will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room
* It will take slightly longer to walk to the museums from this home, as you'll need to walk around Atocha station
* When we visited, we spotted some wear and tear in this home
