Located in the heart of the Forest of Dean, Lydbrook has a well stocked village store, an award winning fish & chip shop, excellent Indian takeaway and two dog friendly, pubs. At the foot of the village, you ll find the river Wye where you can enjoy a spot of fishing or have some fun in a canoe. With plenty of cycle trails and walks to take you deep into the ancient woods, Lydbrook is the perfect location for a forest adventure. The towns of Monmouth, Chepstow, Hay on Wye and Cheltenham are all within easy reach, so there s always something happening throughout the year. For foodies, the Abergavenny and Forest Showcase festivals are a must. And with many of the local villages hosting summer festivals, music lovers will be kept entertained too. A beautiful, well equipped cottage. In an elevated position with views across a wooded valley. Ideal for families and couples wanting to discover the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Accessed from the village road via the original stone steps, this charming Victorian detached cottage, sits in an elevated position, just above a cluster of similar traditional cottages. The interior has been sympathetically restored but offers all the modern comforts you d expect. The hand made kitchen is finished with tongue and groove painted walls, solid ash worktops and comes fully equipped with an electric, induction hob range cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. Just off the spacious kitchen, is one of two family bathrooms with a rain shower over a full sized bath and WC. To the front of the cottage is the lounge, with two large comfy sofas, and a cosy snuggle sofa. Settle down for the evening in front of the 43 inch Smart TV and a wood burner. Open the French doors off the lounge, and you ll discover a traditional wooden porch: a real suntrap and the perfect retreat for unwinding with a good book. The dining room, also at the front of the cottage is tastefully, yet simply furnished with a large, French farmhouse table, games cupboard and classic Welsh slate fireplace. Original sash windows frame wonderful views across the valley from both the lounge and dining room. Upstairs, there are four generously sized bedrooms. One king size, one double to the front with original fireplaces and beautiful valley views, and two further bedrooms to the rear: one with two single beds and suitable for children only. The other has a small double bed and is comfortably set up for one person only perfect for a grandparent or a teenager. The upstairs bathroom has a rain shower over a full sized bath and WC. Outside, you can relax in an enclosed and private garden with a flagstone terrace and gravelled area. There s a long wooden table with bench seating and a charcoal BBQ (available from April until the end of September). This pretty sun terrace is a perfect spot for relaxing and alfresco dining. Bikes can be safely stored at the cottage and there is plenty of unrestricted parking on the village road, just a short walk from the property (subject to availability).
