Come evening, pour yourself a glass of traditional tsikoudia and make a beeline for the terrace to catch the last of the day’s glorious golden light.

Wake up bright and early in premium quality beds and tuck into the inclusive Cretan breakfast provided by your host. Relax with a cup of coffee in the uncluttered living space – we loved the neutral tones, exposed stone walls and clerestory windows. Plan your agenda at the dining table before slipping on your sandals and jumping in the car to Gerani Beach – or why not make the short drive to Chania if you fancy swapping the sea for the city.

*A daily housekeeping service attends from Monday to Saturday – a linen and towel change takes place mid-week
*Pool maintenance takes place twice a week and a gardener attends one a week
*Logs are provided for the wood-burning fire during the winter months
