Situated between Skiddaw and Derwentwater Lake, Keswick is a vibrant town that has an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. There is also some great shopping, with the high street boasting both chain stores and independent retailers. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of adventure activity providers offering mountain biking, sailing, climbing and ghyll scrambling to name a few. Hillwalkers have easy access to the surrounding fells, with the Skiddaw and Blencathra ranges both within 7 miles. For a gentler walk, a stroll around the shoreline of Derwentwater or along the River Derwent is a lovely way to pass the time. For a day trip, travel 25 miles to the Solway Coast for beautiful coastal walks, and lovely pebble and sandy beaches just perfect for a picnic and a paddle. End the day with an evening of entertainment at the Theatre By The Lake. Spacious and bright, this delightful cottage has a light, airy colour scheme enhanced by the natural light flooding in from the many windows. Entering the first floor, find the four bedrooms and the living room here while the open plan kitchen/diner is on the ground floor. Head along the corridors to the elegant living room where two windows offer beautiful views overlooking the gardens and to Bassenthwaite Lake. Two substantial curving sofas face the wood burner effect gas fire, perfect for snuggling down with a DVD on the Smart TV and a glass of wine in hand at the end of a busy day. The four bedrooms all benefit from televisions with Freeview, ample storage and thoughtfully chosen artwork. Two king size bedrooms have en suite shower rooms, while the third king size bedroom has marvellous views of Skiddaw. The twin room has zip and link beds which can be made up as a super king size bed on request and the spacious family bathroom has a shower over the bath. Downstairs to the ground floor, you will find the stylish open plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including a double oven and halogen hobs, a dishwasher, microwave and an under counter fridge. The large dining table seats eight for hearty breakfasts and sociable, evening meals where you can discuss the day's activities. The utility room has a large fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and the separate WC has plenty of storage space for all those muddy boots. At the end of the kitchen, bifold doors open onto the patio and garden, allowing light and fresh air to flood in. Two comfortable sofas are the perfect spot to enjoy this suntrap when the doors are closed, creating a lovely garden room. Outside, the multi level landscaped garden has a sloping lawn, mature colourful shrubs and magnificent views of Bassenthwaite and Skiddaw. Watch the comings and goings of the birdlife as you dine alfresco on the patio, sipping a glass of wine as the sun goes down. There is parking for up to three cars in the driveway at the rear of the property.
