Situated in a quiet residential area, an easy 1/3 mile walk from the centre of Keswick; the property is perfectly placed whether you feel like popping into the bustling centre of the town, or whether you'd like to get outdoors and make the most of the stunning natural surroundings. Keswick has an array of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a variety of water sports on Derwentwater. Although children under 7 are not accepted, older children will love Fitz Park with its playground and tennis courts, and the museum and swimming pool are excellent rainy day options. Spend the day exploring Derwentwater by steamer or rowing boat; tackle the climb up Scafell Pike or enjoy a bit of culture with a concert or play at the Theatre by the Lake. The ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle sits just above Keswick and is well worth a visit. Mountain bikers of all levels will love Whinlatter Forest Park, 5 miles away, where cycling and walking trails wind through the woods, and thrill seekers can get hearts racing along the high ropes course at Go Ape! 17 miles away is Penrith, the largest town in the area with a good mixture of independent and high street shops, ideal for a spot of retail therapy, as well as having many places to eat. Step through the front door of this lovely Keswick cottage into the cosy entrance hall, which leads into a wonderfully welcoming and spacious open plan living/dining room, benefitting from oak floors throughout. There are two large, sumptuous sofas and an ottoman arranged around the wood burner, ideal for cosy nights in with a movie on the SkyTV. The country style kitchen has a view over the rear patio and is equipped with a range style cooker with gas hob, two ovens, separate grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Leading off the kitchen is the conservatory style sitting area, with table and seating for four and an external door to the rear patio, allowing the feeling of being outdoors even if it's raining. Upstairs the two charming bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and high quality cotton bedding.
