Grange in Borrowdale has two tearooms and there are plenty of pubs in the neighbouring villages, ideal for days when cooking seems too much.
Borrowdale is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of mountain top and valley walks, with a 5 mile walk through woodlands along the River Derwent to Rosthwaite. Grange Fell overlooks the village and has woods, rocky outcrops and small summits to explore, two of which are Wainwrights (King s How and Brund Fell).
