You ll have a charming coffee shop and a cosy pub within 0.5 miles perfect for relaxing before or after a day in the fresh air. For a unique experience, head to Bassenthwaite Lake Station (5 miles), where you can dine aboard a replica of the Orient Express. Beautiful walks await around Bassenthwaite Lake (5 miles), or for the more adventurous, head up the 931 metre Skiddaw mountain (start point 6.5 miles) for a rewarding hike with breathtaking views. Step through the front door and you re welcomed into a spacious and cosy entrance lounge. To your right, a good sized kitchen awaits, while the left side leads to a snug single bedroom. As you explore, you ll notice period features including exposed stone walls and wooden beams, along with tasteful themed artwork and elegant wooden fittings. Further along is a handy hallway utility/boot room with Lakeland slate inset seats, plus a ground floor shower room boasting a luxurious waterfall shower. Just past this is the glorious and bright sunroom, where the light enters come rain or shine thanks to multiple windows. Heading back to the lounge, stairs from here lead you up to a huge lounge area in the eaves, with a vaulted ceiling, beams and skylights. Sofas and a TV are on hand for unwinding with fellow guests.
