This beautifully restored 17th century Lakeland farm house offers an ideal getaway for family and friends. Within easy reach of the market town of Kendal and set in an idyllic location next to the river, this newly renovated 17th century farmhouse caters for all. There are plenty of walks straight from your door; along the river, scale the nearby hills or explore the local lanes and footpaths. Kendal is a short drive (15 minutes) away and the property provides a central place from which to explore both the Lake district and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. To the west the vibrant town of Windermere is a great place to enjoy the many cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. From there you can head down to Bowness, Lake Windermere and take a tour of the lake via the steamboats, or for the more adventurous to hire your own kayaks. The small hamlet of Staveley a few miles away is worth a visit, with its award winning brewery and café centre. Northwards, away from the crowds, are scenic mountains and lakes such as Haweswater, as well as easy access to the motorway, Penrith and Keswick, whilst eastwards lie the villages and hamlets of the Yorkshire dales. This is a great base for exploring Ambleside, Kendal and many National Trust properties, or to explore Lancashire and Yorkshire further afield. On entering the property you firstly enter the lounge, with original beams and traditional wood burning stove, which is the best place to relax on the two leather sofas, while viewing a movie on the Smart TV. To the right of the lounge is brand new for 2020 kitchen, which retains the farmhouse feel and ambiance. Here you will find all you need to create a lovely family meal with built in dishwasher, fridge/freezer, induction hob and dual oven, along with seating. Head out the back of the lounge to the small hallway which houses the shower room with WC. On the other small hall is the utility area with washer and dryer plus a place to hang your coats and muddy boots. On the first floor we find a cosy room with bunk bed, tucked away through a secret door and providing your own hidden den for children and young teenagers. To the left is the main bathroom with shower over bath and WC all recently upgraded. The first bedroom on the left is a king size room with views overlooking the nearby river and further along the hall is a king size room with the same majestic view. Finally, we reach the master bedroom housing a king size zip and link (which can be made up as two singles on request) with an abundance of storage space for all your items and built in wardrobe. The property has Wi Fi throughout connected to 1000Mbps B4RN fibre broadband. To the front of the property you will find an enclosed garden area with apple trees, a picnic table, barbecue and views of the surrounding fields. Whilst at the back is an enclosed area with old damson trees and a pathway which follows the riverbank. Logs are provided.
