Midway between Kendal and Windermere (both 5 miles), the historic village of Staveley makes a wonderful base for exploring the south eastern fringes of the Lake District. Staveley has a number of great places to eat and drink, including a pub, brewery, cafes and an ice cream parlour, and makes a handy stop along the Dales Way. The villages of Windermere and Bowness (6 miles) sit on the edge of the lake and are home to attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter, Windermere Jetty Museum and Brant Fell Viewpoint, with plenty of activities to take part in including kayaking, canoeing and boat cruises. Heading into Kendal, attractions include the medieval castle ruins and the popular Brewery Arts Centre. Entering this characterful and stylishly updated cottage, the porch is useful for leaving coats and boots, and has a hot and cold doggy shower for washing muddy paws. Inside the cottage, the dining room provides a sociable spot for enjoying a meal or for planning the day s adventures. The light and attractive kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, making this a great space for cooking all your favourite family meals. A second fridge with a small ice compartment can be found in the utility room along with a clothes rack, iron and ironing board. A step leads down from the dining room and kitchen into the bright and tastefully decorated lounge, where you can sit back and enjoy a film on the Smart TV or catch up with a good book. There s also a ground floor WC. Going up the steep and narrow cottage style staircase you will find two cosy bedrooms. The king size room features a beautiful floor to ceiling gable end triangular window overlooking the garden and allowing plenty of light in. The room also features a large skylight, plenty of storage space and an en suite shower room complete with a shower and WC. The second bedroom has a vaulted ceiling with original wooden beams, along with storage space and a handy en suite bathroom with a charming roll top bath, walk in shower and WC. Please note that, due to the age of the property, there are some lower doorways and beams upstairs. Bi fold doors lead from the lounge out into the delightful back garden which comprises a patio with a choice of outdoor furniture, making an ideal spot for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Parking is available for one car on the driveway, with further on street parking for one car with supplied permit. Please note, the driveway has pedestrian access for three adjoining properties.
