"1 Bishopgate Court has an excellent location with convenient parking just outside the front door."
It is located centrally in the town of Howden with shops, restaurants and pubs just a few minutes walk. Howden itself is an attractive small town and a great place to stay in. The house was warm and comfortable and reasonably well equipped. The absence of modern heating controls or a thermostat meant that the heating had to turned off and on frequently. My main criticism would be the complete lack of any welcome material; no information or contact details for the owner. There were a couple of minor issues I would have liked to report but this was not possible as only a general number for Sykes was given (music on hold).

HOWDEN
Goole 4.1 miles; Pocklington 17.3 miles; York 20.5 miles.
Howden is a small historic market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It lies about 20 miles south-east of York. The town of Howden is dominated by its beautiful Minster, which leads to a beautifully preserved Georgian town centre, with narrow cobbled streets and restored buildings with some attractive shops, historic coaching inns and charming tea rooms, and a small market which takes place each Friday. On the outskirts of the town, Howden Marsh is a lovely place for a quiet walk, with a lake and small islands which have become habitat for birds and wildlife. The town of Pocklington is not too far away within the Vale of York. There are several world-famous attractions nearby majestic Castle Howard, beautiful Sledmere House, and of course the city of York. The city of York needs no recommendations, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker, The Minister, its Medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, museums and of course York Races. You will certainly be spoilt for choice within this area of Yorkshire.
