Walk from home and explore the local area by heading 2 miles up Burnmoor Tarn for lovely views and a stretch of the legs. Continue on to the Wasdale Valley which boasts England s highest mountain and deepest lake. From the local station, hop on the La al Ratty Steam Engine and enjoy the 7.5 mile journey to the coastal village of Ravenglass. Spend a day by the water for a family friendly trip or visit the Roman Bath House (9 miles) for a spot of history. Return back and enjoy a meal out in Boot to complete your day. The beautiful Stanley Ghyll waterfall is 6 miles from your door and is a great picnic spot for all to enjoy. Head through the garden gate and make your way inside this welcoming cottage. The open plan kitchen/diner is a lovely place in which to relax. The open fire throws heat into the room and there is a TV with freesat box and internet access to keep you entertained. Sit with the radio or a CD on and read a book on the comfortable sofa or one of the chairs. In the corner of the room is a dining table which seats six guests so you can enjoy communal meals. When it comes to cooking, the quirky kitchen has exposed beams and rural views and is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A dining table for four means you can gather with a cup of tea throughout the day. There is a handy washer/dryer in a cupboard in the family bathroom which has a bath with shower attachment and WC. After delicious meals and time together, head up to the first floor to rest your head for the night. The first bedroom is a king size with en suite shower room and WC, the second is a cosy twin with ornamental fireplace, and the third is an inviting double. Enjoy spending time in the enclosed garden where you can dine on the patio or bask in the sun. Admire views of the Eskdale fells and fill your lungs with fresh air. There is parking for one car in front of the cottage or you can park at one of the local pubs and make a donation to charity.
