Eskdale is a wonderfully unspoilt destination that offers fabulous food, glorious scenery and a host of opportunities for walking and cycling for all abilities. The River Esk has natural pools for swimming and is a popular place for canoeing and fishing. Take a trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, making a leisurely 7 mile journey through beautiful scenery to the sea. Blow away the cobwebs along the sands at Drigg Beach, 8 miles away and perfect for picnics and a dip in the sea. History enthusiasts will love Muncaster Castle, 7 miles away, and with five pubs in the valley offering excellent home cooked food with an emphasis on local produce, you could indulge in a hearty meal and pint of ale after a busy day. The village shop is within 2 miles and sells groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables and newspapers. With exposed beams complemented with cream walls and a blend of traditional and quirky furnishings, this cottage is full of authentic charm and character. Step into the open plan living space, where the front door leads to the kitchen area with a dining area and sitting room beyond. The compact kitchen has an air fryer, microwave oven, refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The dining table seats four, and the room is finished with a comfortable sofa and armchair, ideal for relaxing with your feet up at the end of the day, glass of wine in hand and film on the TV. The ground floor double bedroom is located off the living area and is tranquil in creams and pretty, floral textiles and has an en suite shower room. Upstairs is a family room with a four poster double bed and is accessed via the stairs from the living area with no door between. Here there is also an en suite (separated by a curtain) bathroom with a hand held shower. Outside there is a decking area with a picnic table that catches the morning and afternoon sun perfect for an al fresco breakfast or lunch. At certain times of the year you can even see the river flowing by, with the beautiful fells the perfect backdrop to your Lake District holiday.
