Devoke Water (1.5 miles), the largest tarn in the Lake District, is just a short walk away from the property or investigate the archaeological sites including Neolithic and Bronze Age stone circles and settlements nearby. Take a short drive to the majestic Wastwater (11 miles), the deepest lake in England, Wasdale Head (13.5 miles) and Scafell Pike (13 miles) or head further west to the unspoiled beaches of the western coast. Visit Hardknott Pass (9 miles) with its Roman fort and wild swimming pools at Tongue Pot.
