The popular town of Hay on Wye is known as The Town of Books and is famous for its annual literary festival and numerous bookshops. Hay is home to a castle, a thriving arts scene and a range of great pubs, shops, restaurants and markets. This is a fantastic area for activities including walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. Nearby is the historic village of Glasbury (2 miles) where you will find some lovely places to eat and drink, a delightful nature reserve and a beach on the River Wye where you can take part in water sports including swimming and canoeing. Other local landmarks and attractions include Talgarth Mill (5.5 miles), Llangorse Lake (10.5 miles) and the Begwn Hills (6.5 miles). Situated at the end of a long drive, a flight of steps leads up from the parking area to the property itself, with additional steps leading up to the front door. The bright and welcoming lounge makes a great space for sitting back at the end of a wonderful day, and features comfortable seating, a cosy wood burner, TV, DVD and underfloor heating. The stylishly designed kitchen/diner is an ideal space for preparing and sharing all your favourite meals, and is equipped with an electric range double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and granite worktops. The dining area is perfect for enjoying a family meal, and this room also has underfloor heating. The ground floor also features a separate WC as well as a utility room by the back door which has a washer/dryer, sink and plenty of space for storing muddy boots. A flight of handcrafted stairs leads up to the first floor where you will find three light, tastefully decorated and relaxing bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king size bed, as does the second bedroom, and there s also a delightful twin room with two 2 6 beds particularly suitable for children. You will also find a family bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. Heading out through the front door, a few steps lead down to the large elevated terrace where you can sit back in the garden furniture and enjoy a glass of wine, a BBQ or al fresco meal while admiring the stunning country views which surround the property. The cottage is set within landscaped grounds looking out across the Wye Valley and the Begwn Hills. There is ample parking available for up to four cars to the front of the cottage. Please note the garden is not enclosed.
