With its quaint cobbled streets, the delightful little River Eea, a range of artisan shops, restaurants, and cosy old world pubs, Cartmel is home not just to the famous priory, but also the beautiful Cartmel Racecourse (scene of several immensely popular steeplechase meetings throughout the year).
