The South Lakes is yours to explore from this lovely base, be that on foot, by bike or through endless excursions on the area s mighty lakes. One of the most beloved lakes is Lake Windermere, just 6.5 miles away. Offering regular boat trips as well as kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding or wild swimming, this destination is one to discover at all times of year. You can, of course, enjoy a walk around the lake s footpaths, exploring Fell Foot (6.5 miles), Far Sawrey (12.5 miles) and Windermere itself (12 miles). Moving in the opposite direction, get to know Cumbria s gorgeous coastline with a trip to Grange over Sands (6 miles), home to a long promenade and incredible views across Morecambe Bay. Before stepping into this pretty, stone built Lake District cottage, take a moment to appreciate your peaceful village surroundings of overhanging trees and distant, rolling countryside. Head on in to find that the rural charm continues in the form of whitewashed stone walls, original slate flooring and attractive beams that add to the classic nature of this country cottage. Walk into the bijou lounge/diner with a roaring wood burner cosily set to one side. This room offers comfy sofas, a loveseat by the window and a Smart TV in one corner, altogether creating the homeliest space to relax in after a busy day exploring the fells and lakes. When stomachs rumble, take a step up and into the well appointed kitchen, a compact room that s been equipped with all the necessary appliances for easy mealtimes. When dinner is served, step back into the lounge/diner to find a sociable, circular dining table, or head outside to eat alfresco. Upstairs, a mezzanine style master bedroom greets you at the top of the stairs. This double room is cosy and appealing and gives way to the snug bunk bedroom and refreshing family shower room which completes the cottage s interior. In the rear garden, soak up the peaceful atmosphere of rural Cumbria and listen as the birds tweet up above you. The garden is furnished with a small outdoor bistro set, offering the perfect, quiet spot to settle with a morning brew or al fresco evening meal together. Private parking for one car is available, with further on street places nearby, subject to availability.
