An idyllic village and harbour on Tipperary's eastern shore of Lough Derg, Garrykennedy is the perfect place to spend some time. The 15th-century Garrykennedy Castle Harbour ruins are a major tourist attraction in this ancient town, where visitors may park their boats and explore the gorgeous region, which includes a playground, a modern harbour, and numerous BBQ areas. Award-winning Larkins Restaurant and Roy Breen Public House, as well as a convenience shop in Portroe, south of Garrykennedy, are some of the dining options in the area. Further attractions and utilities can be found in Nenagh, including Nenagh Castle, the Nenagh Heritage Centre, a cinema, and supermarkets. Waterpark Aqua Splash is located at Dromineer, which is also home to the historic Dromineer Castle and offers boat tours of Lough Derg, while Killaloe is located farther south and offers even more water sports.
