Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
When we say that this flat is in the heart of Florence, we mean it. Just a few moments away is the bustling Piazza della Signori (a three-minute walk, to be precise), while the red-tiled dome of the iconic Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is only eight minutes on foot. Monuments and museums, boutiques and bars, restaurants and the River Arno – it's all within easy reach and practically on your doorstep, so if sightseeing is on your to-do list, you couldn't ask for better. After a wander around the city followed by a delicious Italian dinner, come home to this cosy flat and kick off your shoes. It's a bit of a climb, we're not going to lie – you'll find it on the third floor of a historic building – but the inviting space is well-worth the trek. Pour yourself a glass of wine and admire the rooftop views standing on the Juliet balcony, then make your way to the comfortable bedrooms for a restful night's sleep. The mezzanine is an excellent spot to unwind with a book – it can also double as a bedroom – and if you're travelling with little ones, books and toys in... the small playroom will keep them entertained. All in all, not a bad place to call home in the Tuscan capital.

Home truths
This apartment is on the third floor without a lift – it's probably not suitable for those with limited mobility
At maximum occupancy, three guests will sleep on sofa beds – one is in the living area and the other is on the mezzanine
There's no TV here – if you'd like to catch up on your favourite shows, you'll have to stream from your laptop or phone
Parking is tricky in the city – instead of driving, we think you'd be better off leaving the car behind and exploring on foot
This home is in a central spot, so noise is to be expected
Books and toys can be provided for little ones
The balcony is Juliet-style, so there's nowhere to sit

About Santa Croce
Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre. The largest crowds have thinned out by this point, but if you stay here, you're still close enough to explore the whole city on foot....

Brave the crowds at the Uffizi
There's a reason it's busy – from Leonardo and Botticelli through to Rembrandt, this is one of the most important collections of European art in the world.

Turn the pages at Libreria Brac
A bookshop, a vegetarian restaurant, and a bar – you could quite happily spend all day at this hidden gem.

Dine like a local at La Giostra
Experience the intimate and classy yet relaxed atmosphere of La Giostra. Indulge in Tuscan dishes, including the famous Florentine T-bone steak, paired with a selection from their extensive wine list.
