Since the 15th century, it's been carefully cared for by the same family, and its long list of notable visitors spans kings, queens and literary figures. The sprawling grounds are filled with activities, such as a boating lake, tennis court, croquet lawn, cricket pitch, and heated seasonal swimming pool.
