The pretty, traditional Kefalonian architecture, bright decor and generous outdoor area are a bonus – so is the private swimming pool, angled to overlook the deep blue on the horizon. Though there's enough room for everyone inside, alfresco meals on the terrace – when you're not dining at the local tavernas – will be an irresistible prospect. Drop your bags and head to the beaches along the coast, or make your way across the channel to visit Ithaca for the day.
