It’s a twenty-minute walk (or four-minute drive) to the village of Langwathby with its train station, village shop and handful of pubs and a coffee shop. Further afield, you’ll find plenty to see and do in Penrith, a ten-minute drive away. A classic rose-stone exterior greets you on arrival, but it’s the inside of this home that really impresses. Walls of reclaimed wood, exposed stonework and a vaulted ceiling in the living room are simply stunning. There’s a wood-burner to keep things cosy and each piece of furniture – headboards made from old pallets, a striking faux-bird lampshade and old bronze keys in the doors – feels handpicked.
