Immerse yourself in idyllic countryside with this secluded and charming rural retreat, offering the perfect blend of serenity and convenience. Nestled amidst picturesque fields and on a cycle route, you can bask in the tranquillity or venture out to explore the nearby surroundings easily by car. Accessed via a private drive through a working farm and surrounded by open farmland, the cottages sit within a lightly wooded oasis of over an acre, providing a tranquil rural setting, rich in wildlife, on the western edge of the Purbeck Downs in Dorset. A short 2 mile journey leads you to the village of Maiden Newton, home to plenty of local amenities. Alternatively, a scenic 7 mile drive south takes you to the ever popular Jurassic Coast. Visit a wealth of attractions, including Dorchester, Abbotsbury with its Swannery and gardens, Forde Abbey, Lyme Regis and Durdle Door. Plus Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Fleet Air Arm Museum are all within easy reach. A visit to Weymouth and Portland is a must, where you can explore the rich maritime history, browse the shops or spend time on the award winning Blue Flag beach. Part of a complex of 4 adjoining properties, this 18th century flint and stone barn conversion sits at the end of a long drive, unmade in places and surrounded by rolling countryside. The private entrance door opens into a welcoming hallway, where you'll find the first of the two bathrooms straight ahead. On the left is an inviting open plan lounge/diner. This sociable room has been cleverly divided with the lounge area to the left, arranged around the wood burner and smart TV and space to dine in comfort just opposite. The kitchen can be found through an arch and being just next door, you can chat whilst you prepare your favourite meals. Heading upstairs, you'll find the two bedrooms and a cosy study with space to sit and enjoy a good book. Completing this floor is the second bathroom. French doors lead from the lounge to a private patio with furniture and a charcoal BBQ, ideal for al fresco meals. There is an open lawn, screened in part with hedging, which is the perfect place to sit back and relax whilst you listen to birdsong. A shared games room sits at the opposite end of the terrace, furnished with a 3 in 1 table (pool/table tennis and air hockey) plus a dart board.
