Step out, and you'll find yourself just steps from the seafront, so you'll be able to make the most of the glorious seaside views whilst also being within easy walking distance of Deal's wonderful, independent shops, pubs and cafes. You're a thirty-five-minute drive from Margate – home to the Turner Contemporary and some fantastic eateries – and the historic city of Canterbury – where can you can quickly lose an afternoon wandering along cobbled alleyways.

* We'd recommend a car if you plan on exploring the area – there is paid parking in the car park at the bottom of Farrier Street and along the front
* Deal is well served by direct trains in and out of several London stations
